James's Story

Greetings! Perhaps you might remember how I often was disciplined for not paying attention in class and doodling or drawing sketches all the time? Well, sketching and doodling is how I make my living! Kind of ironic, no? Search for me on the web under luciadesigns or check out Facebook. I'm still drawing, watercoloring, riding and restoring motorcycles. I have 2 grown and gone sons, Scott and Eric, who live in Florida and graduated from Lake Mary HS. Scott and then his wife, now ex Susan made me a grandfather on July 4, 2005, when they gave birth to Ivy! I live in Maitland now, English Estates area, not too far away from Lyman and all our old haunts. Remember the Casselberry teen club? Dixie Market? A&W Root Beer? Steak N Shake? Winter Park and Prarie Lake Drive Ins? Workplace I have owned a residential design firm since 1974. Designing new homes and remo...Expand for more
delings, as well as green homes. We also provided color and materials assistance for interiors. We provided Green Audits for existing homes to help the consumer save energy as well as conducted Hurricane Mitigation inspections to reduce Homeowners Insurance costs. We have designed homes and other buildings all over the world for people in all walks of life, including low cost housing and vacation homes for old classmates and a few super luxury homes for pro-athletes and entrepreneurs. Small to large, mild to wild and green and sustainable construction! Just as I was getting serious about retiring, a good friend convinced me to come to work at his design/build firm in Winter Park. I've been designing some pretty far-out stuff at Phil Kean Designs. Just Google the company to see what we've been up to. I look forward to hearing from any old Lyman High Alumni!

It's great stumbling on classical public architecture. Wish I could have found a date on it somewhere.

Can you tell who designed this home?
