Jim's Story
Workplace
After graduating from HMBHS in 1971, I went to UC Davis, initially majoring in Civil Engineering and earning my BS in Environmental Planning and Management. While working full-time on campus, I also did some graduate work in Radiological Sciences.
In 1979, I transferred to UC Irvine, where my professional career bloomed from a radiation protection specialist to Associate Director for Environmental Regulatory Affairs.
After spending 23 years at UCI, in 2002 I moved to the Lawrence Livermore National Lab and worked there until 2009....Expand for more
During the past 35 years, my UC career has been blessed with many opportunities to get involved in professional, governmental and public affairs activities.
I enjoyed seeing many of my friends at the 35th anniversary reunion of the Class of 1971 on August 26, 2006.
Update 10/12/2009:
I just retired from full-time employment and have moved back to Irvine, where I am looking forward to participating behind the scenes in a family business, starting a part-time management/technical consulting practice, and of course, enjoying some play time.
