Life
I have had a first husband and a last husband. My husband and I just celebrated 17 wonderful years of marriage. He had 2 kids before we married, and we have 2 together. His two boys have married and become step fathers,so I figure that makes me a 2-step grandmother! Funny thing is, the oldest grandchild is just 3 months younger than our daughter who is in the 1st grade here. Our son is active in the local Methodist church, and with the high school ROTC program. He is a member of the color guard.
We are living happily in the country in Central Texas where I am Lead Teacher and Special Education Coordinator of the Special Education department at the local High School. My husband is a Journeyman Lineman contracted out to power companies. My favorite time of year is summer when I can hook my shredder up to my tractor and go round and round solving the troubles of the world in my head.

have a bit of zaniness. When a good friend from work was diagnosed with a second bout of cancer, I vowed that she would not be bald alone! On Christmas Eve 06, the call came in that it was time. I allowed her to cut it all off, and her father shaved my head. (Very hard decision for someone who firmly believes in the benefits of long hair on women!) The 2 pounds of hair that was cut off has been sent to "Locks of Love". Their website assures that any hair that is too short for their purposes will be sold to help with the funding of their program. I have learned that it was easier to have the initial haircut than it is to continue to keep it cut until my friend's hair starts to grow back in.
When we moved to the country, we traded in the motorcycles for 4-wheelers and a John Deere tractor (mine!). Who would have ever thought that such a 'preppie' girl in high school would grow into a true 'country bumpkin'?
