Jamie's Story
Once upon a time, Prince Charming, "happily-ever-after", education, and work were engaged in a fierce battle. The end seemed distant and unpredictable.
Education -> Did that - Not when it was expected of me but when I was ready.
Work - I was brought up believing work was something Prince Charming would wear a suit to every day while we created a family, lived in a palace, and engaged in charitable causes.
Uhhhh - that didn't work out (so to speak) and so I worked. I learned to love working.
Prince Charming -> went away. Knight in Shining Armor -> gone. Knight in Shining Armor # 2... All good nights come to an end...as did my Knight. Good night, sweet Knight. You were my Prince for such a short time. I will see you again someday.
I have been greatly blessed. My children are grown, capable, responsible, educated, loving adults and parents.
Some are Godly. I pray for all.
Anyone that invests time in knowing me learns that I am strong, self-reliant, and happy.
What a blessing that God's plan included me coming back to Him.
What a blessing it is to serve Him by reaching out to others.
This is a true story of "happily-ever-after", thanks to God's grace. I have wealth beyond compare and my palace awaits.
July 7th 2021:
Each pod that opens yields peas of varying sizes, shape, sweetness, and number. I am shelling peas grown in my yard this season - the off-spring of ones I grew last season. This is the way I use the gap time between processing cherry jam and starting another batch from the fruit produced on a tree I planted several years prior.
How did I get here - so very far from the City, and a life filled with personal gratification and societies accolades?
My desires were worldly and I succeeded in them.
And then I remembered God.
He had never abandoned me.... I had taken a number of wrong paths and ...Expand for more
tried to make them good.
So now, far far away from the unnecessary, I focus on what is good in my life and producing more of it by my words and actions. I am never alone - God holds me and motivates.
Each day is like the peas in the shells I open.
All start the same - I thank God each morning for another opportunity to be better. Each day is part of my life and my life is from Him. He planted me where I am and provides what I need. I am part of His garden of many.
Thank you Lord for allowing me time to remember You, and grow.
Amen

My Dash (author unknown)
A man stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to her dates of life
from beginning to the end.
He said what mattered most of all
was the dash between and how that dash was spent.
The dash represents the time
she spent alive on earth,
and now only those that loved her know,
what that little line is worth.
It matters not how much we own;
the cars,
the house,
the cash.
What matters is how we live and love,
and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
that can still be rearranged
If we would just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real.
And always try to understand
the way other people feel.
Be less quick to anger,
show appreciation more,
love the people in our lives, like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile.
Remembering that this special dash,
only lasts a little while.
So when your life is being read,
when your actions are rehashed,
when you stand before God's throne
will He say, "Well done my child,"
about how you spent your dash?
To all of you that spent a moment of your dash to read this, I am glad you were part of my dash.❤️
Today is God's gift of your dash.
Love, Jamie
