Jan's Story

Hi, classmates! At Belton High school from 1960-1964 you knew me as Jan Harris. Now, my name is Jan Ford Mustin and I live in Austin, Texas where I have been a licensed Ph.D. clinical psychologist in private practice for 30 years! I own the Peak Performance Institute where we provide sports psychology for college and other elite athletes, brain wave training and brain maps for advanced neuropsychological evaluations and an array of other positive psychology services. I am a public speaker and authored the book, Removing Your Roadblocks to Love, Happiness and Success. If you are interested in an autographed copy, just let me know and I will be sure to send you one myself. My life has taken me from Belton to the University of Arkansas, NYU and the University of Madrid until I finally completed a doctorate at the Unversity of Texas at Austin in 1977. As life is what we are doing while we are making other plans, mine includes a divorce and recently the tragic death of my beloved husband, Al. I did not plan to be a widow at this tender age,...Expand for more
but since life brings you surprises, I must be prepared for them all and embrace what happens, believing in a higher plan. I love to run, entertain my friends in my lovely new home in Lakeway, read, reconnect with precious friends from years past and travel. This year has taken me to Arkansas for a mini-reunion in Fayetteville, to Vail, Colorado for a Christmas ski week, to Rockport for a coastal get-away and within weeks to Washington D.C. to visit a dear friend from the university. I plan to return to Madrid, Spain later this spring and research professional opportunities for positive psychology practice in the capital city there. My goal is to have a home in Spain and keep my home in Austin, while traveling widely to promote my book as I write it's sequel, Roadmaps to the Stars! Please contact me if we were friends at Richards Gebaur A.F.B. With our parents aging and passing away, reconnecting helps us keep the spirit of our youth alive and reminds us of our early dreams and the power of friendship in pursuing them. Your friend, Jan
