tarting up the school year in different ways. She is starting her second year at Camosun in a Community, Family and Child Studies program. After that she has the option to directly transfer into UVic's Child and Youth Care degree. I am starting my studio as usual, but am still needing more students. Last year I LOVED teaching my group classes, and will start one again this Thursday. The kids are doing well: Jesse just got back from touring Canada with his band! They had a great time. He's looking to set up his own guitar teaching studio as well as continuing at his bread-and-butter job with a moving company. Claire is going to Australia for a year! She just got back from a European tour, where she had such a good time that she was bitten hard by the travel bug. Shawn is starting grade 12! Wow, he'll be graduating in no time. Shawn is living with his Dad for awhile and that is going very well, it seems. Ange is living in Victoria for a year, working at Telus and getting her life under control after finishing school. She plans to move back to Vancouver in February. Meaghen has just started university! She moved to Edmonton and is taking a degree in English Lit and Art. So far she's enjoying her classes. Measha is our last chick in the nest. She is working full time and has a very active social life. She turned 19 in May (drinking age here in BC) and is gradually picking up the reins of adult responsibility in her life. Sharon and I are also very busy being landladies. We have three in-house tenants and two (soon to be one) in the suite. Right now we are very lucky with an excellent group of people. My Mum is doing well in Luther Court. She can't really talk or understand anything, but she is happy, which is the best we can hope for. So life is good, though we are still fighting depression since our Dads died so close together. Sharon's mom is also, and we visit with her in Nanaimo as much as we can. I'm hoping some of that will abate with the coming of fall, my favorite season. The crisp air and crunch underfoot, combined with the brilliant and changing colours around me, tend to put a spring back in my step. That would be wonderful!".
