Jan's Story
I've lived in Longview for 20 years - and have been teaching at R. A. Long High School since 1999 - English: I teach a Women in Literature class, Senior honors English, honors College Composition, and team teach a Diversity class, in which we look at the
"-isms" - racism, sexism, homophobism, classism, sizism, etc.. I've raised two sons as a single mother; they are 29 and 27 now, single, no grandchildren - that I know of - :)

Best books I've read in the last couple of years: The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan; John Adams by David McCollough; White Like Me by Tim Wise, and anything by Austen!

UPDATE: I retired this past June (2014) from RALong and have moved back to Gresham - trying to get used to the east wind and the flight path of the airplanes! My sons are now 36 and 34 and living in Portland.
