Jan's Story

Hello, Class of 1968! I'm sorry to have missed the reunion. As you can see from my posted photo, I'm still smiling after all these years! I have spent a lot of time in college since you last saw me -- both studying and working. I've worked in higher education administration most of my career. I got my bachelor's degree in visual arts in 1977 from ISU, my master's degree in 1990 at the University of Maine and my doctorate in leadership in 1996 at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. I am currently a college VP/Provost at a private medical and health sciences college in NC. I also teach stats, business and education courses and mentor doctoral students online for U of Phoenix. For fun, I participate in a fr...Expand for more
eelance artist's group and do "intention" coaching with private clients. My spouse, Mark and I just celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. We now live in NC after spending 5 years in ME and about 12 years in FL. Together we have raised two wonderful young men, now 28 and 23 and are looking forward to more travel adventures, grandchildren and checking things off of our "bucket list" in the coming years. I haven't been back to East Peoria in many years. My dad died in 1997, but my mom (94) still lives in a retirement home near my brother in Bloomington, IL. We are also the "children on duty" for Mark's parents, who live in a retirement community near us. Hope you are all doing well and are healthy and happy! Jan
