Jana's Story
Since my high school graduation, I have been enrolled in college off and on over the years, but mainly at UMKC. I have completed one degree in Psychology and one certificate in Youth Development, and will be completing my second degree hopefully by December, 2012. I am considering a future career move into teaching elementary education or working with at-risk families in the court system.
I married about a year after high school and have two sons, Nathan and Jeremy. The marriage did not last, and I spent the majority of my time working and being a single mom to my sons and I attended college when I could afford it. Both sons are now grown, and one has begun his own family. I hope to become a grandmother in late October/early November this year.

as he has a terminal (yet now classified as chronic) cancer of the bone marrow. When we became husband and wife, I became a mother to four more children: 3 daughters and one son, and grandmother to three high school age grandsons.
Over the years, I have become heavily involved in the following hobbies, interests, and organizations: computers and technology, genealogy, gravestone photography, Lone Jack Historical Society, Jackson County Historical Society, KC Blue Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boy Scouts of America, Titanic Historical Society, the Titanic disaster, Germania Club of Kansas City, Psychology Club at UMKC, and other organizations.
I enjoy staying busy and am always working on several tasks at once. I am hoping to start learning more about webpage development, so I can take over management of the page for our class at Vanhorn.org.
