Jana's Story
Hi!
I'm currently a stay at home mom of a beautiful - it's no exageration! - smart and creative 3 year old boy.
We are praying for another one to join our family soon. (It's been a long and miraculous journey!)
I'm the wife of a handsome, talented, hardworking, deep thinking, loving husband. He was from Idaho and thats where we make our home.
I'm a retired elementary teacher of 13 years. I taught 1st and 2nd grades for 8 years and then taught Music and P.E. to K-5 at 2 elementary schools. I've been a receptionist, a sales trainer, a waitress and a radio commercial talent.
I have loved participating in community theater - opera and musicals. It seems that the alto role in Gilbert and Sullivan operettas were made for me and I'm pretty darn good at theater make-up and costuming. (Mostly, I have to use my skills in these areas to make my 44 year old face look young enough to have a three year old kid!) My husband is a talented singer and actor too - we are popular singers at weddings and funerals.
I am very patriotic - I love our country and the freedoms we enjoy here and I try to do what I can in my home and community to teach and preserve the principles of freedom. ( My way to help the community has been to be a school teac...Expand for more
her, a cub scout leader, to be active in my church and to participate as a voter and volunteer for a non-profit group. My way at home has been to teach history and music to my child and nieces and nephews through stories and songs. I try to create oportunities for them to perform and share what they have learned through art, creative dramatics, and vocal performances.)
I love to learn and enjoy reading and writing.
I love to communicate with my family and friends.
I have lost my mother, father and one sister, and a few children of my own. I've learned a lot about what is important to me - relationships are at the core. I'm grateful for two brothers that are still here. I recently found my birth parents and have gotten to know them - what an incredible journey it has been - for which I thank my husband and my adoptive/real mom for helping/pushing me to do it.
I love having a home and am learning to organize it - it has been a challenge to become a homemaker after working and performing most of my life. But, it is a more important work to me than I ever realized.
I am hoping to get reaquainted with some of my old friends from West High School. I was pretty crazy at times in High School and I have to admit - it was pretty fun!
