Jane's Story
I live in the bay area, a little town called Benicia. I have been here for 24 years. I do keep in touch with some of my old friends, especially Pam Silva.
I have been married to Earl for 15 years and have 6 grandchildren between the two of us. Jodie and Benjamin are 35 and 32 years old. Where has the time gone.
I have been in Real Estate for the last 6 years and it has served us well. We have been able to buy a little home in Mexico and we love it there. We try to go and visit a few times a year and we rent it out when we are not there. Steve, my brother lives there and watches over a family investment called Robertos Bungalows. I recently went back and took some art classes and began painting again. I guess I always wanted to do it but being busy as a mom and later single mom I could not afford the time for my interests. So now that everyone is on there own I have begun to paint more. We bought a building and on the bottom floor I opened a gallery, with mostly hand blown glass and Ame...Expand for more
rican crafts. There I was able to display some of my paintings. I mostly paint hearts, custom to the amount of hearts that a client would want for there family or for a special gift. That kept me busy. We sold the building and my partner that I had got transfered to Dallas, so I took that as a good sign to just close the gallery. It was a fun 3 years.
As some of you know I did not get to graduate with my class of '70 at Mira Loma, we moved to Los Angeles. But I have kept the friends there at Mira Loma more than the 1000 that were in the class in Los Angeles. So, it has been fun to get together with my friends there.
My husband and I have also been running a youth drug and alcohol program for the last 15 years. So most of my time is spent raising awareness or money for the program. It is called REach out Benicia, and we have helped thousands of young adults with addiction.
I also spent 5 years doing prison ministry and have been in many prisions throughout the United States. God has a purpose for our lives, so find it and use it.
