Jane's Story
I didn't move too far from Beaumont! After graduation I attended MSJC and graduated in 1968. I married Larry Cassidy ( BHS class of 1962) on January 25, 1969! Mrs. Bates, my kindergarten teacher at Wellwood, walked into my dad and mother's cafe and said, "I don't believe it but your daughter told me way back that she would marry Carol Cassidy's older brother--and she did!! Mrs. Bates sure had a good memory! After Larry graduated from college, we moved to Riverside and raised two daughters. I was a stay at home mom until our youngest started school. I went to work as an Instructional Aide at the girls school and had that job for 15 years. During that time I decided to go back and finish my education. or general and special education. My area of interest was teaching children with severe disabilities. I was fortunate enough to get my special education position at my old school where I had been an aide! I taught there for 17 years retiring in 2010! I loved my job--especially the students but not all the paper work involved with special education! Larry and I have moved into a nice senior mobile home park in the LaSierra area of Riverside. Both our daughters and two grandsons live in the area! We have been very blessed with good health, close family and friends! Life is good! We are now approaching 70 but my mind still feels young but not the body so much! This is my story and since we did not have our 50th high school reunion I would love to read your story!
