Jane Irwin's Story
I recently retired after a million years in the OKC school system and the latter part with at-risk students in trouble with the law, school and at home. It was a challenge and an eye opener to a person who lives in a sheltered, consistent, stable home. I was the 1st OKC teacher assigned to the OK County Juvenile Detention Center and was told (by county commisioners that were on my hiring board)I would not have rapists, murderers or armed robbers on my class roster. Boy, they were wrong as the first day of classes I had not only a rapist and an armed robber but a murderer too and that was just in my 1st hour of class! If a kid committed the crime under the age of 16, then I saw them in school. I could write a book on my experiences!

to 3 wonderful, productive kids, one son-in-law and an ornery little 9 yr. old grandson. I have been married longer than I worked as a teacher (pushing 40 years) and love reading, traveling, watching great movies and visiting with friends and family. I am a busy lady and constantly on the go. Idle time drives me crazy and I still have a lot of energy that has not lessened even though I have added many years to my resume. I am always looking to reconnect with old friends and if anything I have written appeals to someone to contact me, feel free. I love the internet and the connective powers it has opened up to the world.
I could go on and on but need to not uncover every stone from my path of life experiences. You could always just ask me??!!!
