Jane's Story
After my youngest son, Kevin, got injured in 1994, I quit my job as accounting/finance professor at Baldwin-Wallace College and quit working on my doctorate to care for him. He was on Spring Break, working on a drainage project on commercial farm property when a co-worker cut a tree down that landed on Kevin. Kevin spent more than 16 hours in brain surgery, 75 days in a coma, and 4 months in the hospital with a mangled spine. After 15 years and 3000 hours of OUTPATIENT therapies, he relearned to breath, eat, think, talk, write, walk and drum again. Our Trash Kat Drum is endorsed by Elton John's percussionist, Rick Springfield's drummer, Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge, was on exhibit at the Rock Hall and was even on Keith Urban's latest album! Two years ago we purchased a commercial building that we renovated, rented out two units and are using two for our drum workshop. Google "ThunderEcho Drums" for our latest news. I have no desire to retire at his time since Kevin is teaching me to have fun! Besides, my oldest son, Craig and his wife blessed me with a grandson a year ago. Although Craig is a pianist, Kevin and I delight on surrounding the baby with drums! He he! :)
