Jane's Story
Well, gosh. This would have been easier had I started about 30 years ago! Well, here goes...
* went to Boston for college and ran out of money after the first year
* moved to California on a whim (decided on Sunday night, gone Tuesday morning. Bev Mannion was the only friend I told I was leaving. Sorry everyone.)
* spent a year out here working. Vietnam was winding down and I felt I had to serve, sooooooo
* joined the Navy. Yup. Me. Miss "don't tell me what to do." And I LOVED it.
* went to Georgia for training, then stationed at Moffett Field in California until my overseas duty, which I spent in Japan. Awesome.
* got married in Japan (no, he's American). Moved to Louisiana when I got out and had a baby. (not in that order)
* went back to college and got a masters in Organizational Development
* various OD jobs and even a 5 year stint as an independent consultant. Loved t...Expand for more
hat, but I got lonely.
* back in a new company after my last one got sold. LOVE IT.
I now have three grandchildren. The oldest is almost 9 (a boy) and the twin girls just turned 5.
Oh. I FINALLY put on some weight. It was so nice, I kept going. tsk. Milk shakes are no longer part of my weight control regimen. darn.
That's about it. I love California. But, I'm coming back to NJ/NY to visit with Amy and anyone else I can find. Want to spend some quality time at the beach. (The Pacific is kind of cold to swim in...)
I LOVE being a grandma. Have a great relationship with the kids - and just took my grandson to see Wicked in San Francisco. He loved it. While I'm back in NY, Amy and I plan to see Wicked in the city. I've also seen it in LA. Guess the theatre bug never left me.
Hope the rest of you are doing well and enjoying life.
Jane
