Janeen's Story
For the last 15 years or so I've been living in Pennsylvania. Working for the Commonwealth, hiking, kayaking, ballroom dancing, bicycling, gardening, learning to play the harp.
After HS and after working to save money to get out of town, I moved out to California. Lived there for about a year, moved to Utah, then served a mission for the Mormon Church in Germany and Switzerland. When I returned I moved back to Utah, worked and went to school at BYU; did a study abraod stint in Austria then returned to BYU to get a degree in German; however, instead I met my husband Dan. w degree at Columbia University; I worked at the University. We had a son, then moved to Ohio; had a daughter, then another son; then we moved to Illinois, then to Pennsylvania. After 12 years of marriage, I divorced and also left the Mormon Church. I went back to school -Bryn Mawr College and got a BA in Sociology. Landed a job with the Commonwealth of PA in Corrections and here I remain.
There's not a lot I miss about Illinois. To be honest my days there were not happy ones, but I do enjoy seeing how people have "grown up". It is nice to see so many doing so well.
