Janene's Story
College
I received my Bachelors of Science in Physical Education - Sports Medicine in 1988 from Brigham Young University (BYU). I sat for my National Athletic Trainer exam in June 1988 and became certified in July 1988 becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer. This was my education to prepare me for physical therapy school. I loved my experiences at BYU and would love to do those years all over again. I worked off and on in Las Vegas for wonderful bosses, Jack Close, MA, PT, FAPTA and Keith Kleven, MS, PT, ATC who always encouraged me to proceed and fulfull my dreams of becoming a physical therapist. 92 to 1994, graduating with my Masters in Physical Therapy. I also served as Class President/Representative at USC. I then returned to Las Vegas and again worked for Jack Close and Keith Kleven who did sponsor me during PT school at USC. After these partners split I became Vice President for Jack Close and Associates Physical Therapy just 2 years after graduating from USC. I have always loved my profession, it has gotten me through tough times in my life. I have always had my patients and my work that I love! As a result of all my hard work I am now Vice Chair to the newly formed Athletic Trainers Licensing Board in Nevada, a Governor appointed position.
