Carrie's Story

After graduating from Miami University in '96, I accepted a job with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers or PwC) in Detroit. I chose Detroit because that is where my family moved during my college years. After a year in Detroit, I transfered to Chicago with PwC and had a lot of fun living in the city for about three years. Then, through mutual friends, I met the man who is now my husband - Tom Long. He had grown up in the Chicago area but moved to Arizona following graduate school. I had long wanted to move west and be more "outdoorsy" and I was ready for a career change after 5 years in public account...Expand for more
ing. So, in 2001, I signed on with a small publicly traded company based in Phoenix named Viad (formerly the Greyhound Corporation and the Dial Corp) and happily packed up my stuff and headed west. Tom and I married in 2003, about two years after my move. We currently live in Cave Creek, which is a northeast subburb of Phoenix. I am still with Viad, where I am currently responsible for investor relations and financial planning & analysis. Tom owns a physical therapy practice and loves working with his patients. We don't have any kids yet - just haven't felt the urge. For now, we're just having fun and working hard.
