Janet's Story
I went to work after high school as a mechanical drafter for 9 years with Johnson Controls, then Sterns Rogers and finally Stone and Webster. In 1980 I married my husband Mark Holland, he worked for an insurance company. I was laid off in August of 1982. So I was an at home mom for a while. We had our first daughter in 1984 and 2nd in 1986. In 1987 Mark got a new job and we were transferred to Reno. One year later he was promoted and we were transferred back to Denver. July of 1991 I got my license as an Insurance agent (health, life and disability) and began to build my book of business. Mark was promoted again to the home office in Las Vegas as a Director of market research and product development. In 1998 we divorced, but luckily remained very close.

ter that same year I met my current husband(Derek Williams a British citizen who immigrated here in 1997)
I went back out as an independent agent working out of my home and I still enjoy it. My current husband and I married April of 2007. My daughter Amanda has her masters in English and Creative writing and my daughter Caitlin has her degree in Fine Arts and Back Stage Management, but decided in her junior year to also become a Paramedic. Their father Mark passed away in November 2009 and he is missed by all of us.We do come back to Colorado and visit since my sisters and mother still live there I miss the seasons! Believe it or not we do get a little snow and have to crack the ice on the pool once in a while in the winter!
