Janet's Story
Janet Ann Yoder, 72, passed away on December 11, 2020 at her home in Black Canyon City surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Roger Yoder. They shared 42 years of marriage together.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin . She was the daughter of Loyal and Frances Fritzemeier. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1951 when she was 3 years old. She attended Montebello grade school and Alhambra high school graduating in 1966. She then attended the Good Samaritan Hospital school of nursing, graduating in 1969 with an RN diploma. She worked in various fields of nursing including hospital, blood bank, school and finally at The Department of Economic Security auditing Indian Health Service clinics.
She attended Calvary Chapel of Black Canyon City where she was actively involved until health issues got in the way. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She enjoyed a mission trip to Honduras to share the Gosp...Expand for more
el of Jesus Christ in 2013, months prior to being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. She also enjoyed taking on tasks that others hesitated in doing including being the Arizona coordinator of a Japan/Arizona foreign exchange program for approximately 4 years. For that, she (along with her husband) was rewarded with a 2 week stay in Japan with Japanese host families. She also enjoyed coordinating Valentine banquets at her church. Her motto was “Don’t say you can’t if you haven’t tried”. She was known for her ready smile and cheerful disposition.
She is survived by her husband Roger, sons Brian (Radelle) Yoder, Scott Huebner, Darin (Amy) Yoder, and a daughter-of-her-heart Angela Rodenkirk. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Alvin Fritzemeier.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Black Canyon City after the first of the year, at a date to be determined.
