Janet's Story
Life
You know the saying: "That which doesn't kill makes you stronger... well I have survived the "10 Stupid Things to Mess Up My Life" syndrome. I picked Bad Boyfriends & enabled a Selfish Spouse! BUT-- If I hadn't traveled down those roads (& some of those were so exciting!), I would not have met my last boyfriend and and his 3 sons. They are now teenagers!!
I took up Country Western Dancing at its zenith & learned to line dance (for aerobic fun), then 2-step (for safe fun with guys).
I got divorced, but continue to work with my much- improved ex-husband in our Jewelry Store in Beverly Hills on Lapeer & Olympic Blvd.(J. Rothstein Jewelers). We get along great, and we have the best customers. They like our wholesale discounts & personal service. I re-string pearls myself & also pierce ears .... NO ...Expand for more
belly buttons.
Part of our sales goes to help the homeless people who I see every day living on the streets and in the dumpsters in downtown Los Angeles!
My sister (Elyse) & I go to poor parts of Mexico with her Rotary groups & donate things such as wheelchairs, crutches, clothing, air-conditioners, & school supplies. They don't have the benefit of public high school or charities that the USA does.
I have rescued 8 abandoned cats & 1 dog. I will play tennis as long as my back, elbow, and ankles hold out. I just learned how to play a few years ago, so it would seem a shame to end my new hobby so quickly! I feel a LOT older the day after a tennis game.
At the 30-Year BHHS reunion, I re-found many friends from Horace Mann Grammar School, too. That was a great feeling.
