Janet's Story
Five children and I followed Bill as he traveled the country as an Army aviator. We have lived in Ft. Eustis, VA.--Ft. Rucker, AL.-- Enterprise, AL.-- Ft. Lewis, WA.--Ft. Knox, KY. ---Mineral Wells, TX---Jacksonville,AL---Ft. Hood,TX---and Copperas Cove, TX. Which one did I like best? Well, anyplace my family was together. The kids and I spent some time in Iowa while Bill spent two tours in Viet Nam. Nice for the kids to be near grandparents but needless to say we all missed daddy.
I took college courses thru the years and in 1981 my third daughter and I got our associate degree the same day my youngest daughter graduated from hight school. Bill was in Turkey at the time so Donna (daughtrer) and I went to Danelle's high school graduation.
While at Ft. Hood I went into real estate. I worked with a property management company. I enjoyed the challenge of the real estate exam but really didn't like the job. Only did that for about two years.
After Bill retired and the kids were all married and with families of their own, Bill took a job with Civil service and after about three years, we left for a tour in Germany. It was a wonderful time with lots of travel. We never get tire...Expand for more

When we returned from Germany I wanted something to do so when offered a job in travel I jumped at the opportunity. Learning the computer and all the little twerks I really enjoyed it. After three years I decided I wanted to have my own office in our little community of Jacksonville AL. We didn't make big money but the experience, all the training on specific areas and special travel perks it was really enjoyable. It did take up a lot of our time and Bill wanted to sell so we could do our own things. Sold in August just three week before 9/11. I continuted to work with the new owner and did nothing but concellations for two weeks. Didn't seem to bother the new owners.
Bill and I will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary in January. We did a cruise to Hawaii for our 50th, don't know what we will do for this one. We love cruising.
We are now living in a retirement community in Georgetown Tx. (Sun City by Del Webb). We have a daughter in VA., two in TX. one in AL and our only son is retired from the Army and lilves in Al.
I've been known to ramble on. I did a good job this time, right?
