Retired early, now rehab wildlife, help at an animal shelter and do taxes free for folks even older than I am. Am planning a trip to Amsterdam. No, not for the drugs, for the Van Gogh museum!! If I can get away with it, I'd like to vagabond past old haunts, like Greece, Ghana, Kenya, Costa Rica and Guatemala, and see some different worlds, like Zimbabwe, New Zealand, Peru, Colombia, and Ecuador. How long do you think it would take me to hichhike my way from Amsterdam down through Europe and Africa to New Zealand, then go by slow boat to southern South America and work my way back north? I'll bet I'd miss the 40 year class reunion in 2 years. Can't start this month--I'm thinking maybe July or August. I've been in Oregon for a long time now, and my feet are getting itchy...

at back in 1960 and I got to ride around Southern Oregon with her. She didn't take me with her when she went to Alaska, though. So I thought I'd be going door-to-door, like she did, but so far I've only done soup kitchens, halfway houses, homeless camps, homeless shelters and nursing homes. Can't say it hasn't been interesting...
Spring 2011: I'm headed for Amsterdam, at last, by way of Seattle, Pennsylvania and Paris. I'll be in Europe for 3 months, then another month in West Africa to visit my old Peace Corps station in Ghana and try to stay out of trouble in Nigeria, so don't plan to be home till October, at least. Sorry to miss the reunion--give each other BIG HUGS for me. See you at the next one.
Winter 2017 update: We moved to Portland last year to be closer to our grandson. May get more grandkids in Seattle, soon.
