Janet's Story
After graduation I spent three years going to Sierra College (I was a little lazy) then I had a job at the Auburn Journal for a little while. After that I went to Cal Poly, SLO for three more where I earned my degree in Ornamental Horticulture, met my first husband, had a son, and then moved to Searcy, AR, which was quite a culture shock.
Later we moved to Memphis, TN where my two younger sons were born. Somewhere in there I got divorced and remarried to a Memphian, Doug Southall. He works for Gate Gourmet, the airline catering company, and is the most multitalented person I have ever met. I've worked at several differ...Expand for more
ent things, but right now I'm a substitute teacher in the city high schools. I know, you think I'm crazy, but I actually enjoy it. In addition to that I'm active in my church, my neighborhood, and BellyRubs Basset Rescue.
We come home a couple of times a year, so if you think it's me walking down High Street in Auburn or buying a cuppa at Buzz through Joe's in Colfax, it probably is.
Age is creeping up on me, and I have a head stuffed to bursting with student's names and faces, so please don't be hurt if it takes a minute or forever to place you. I'll extend the same courtesy to you if you draw a blank when I say "hi."
