Janet's Story
Life
Grew up in Greensboro, NC. My parents divorced when I was 12 then moved to Melbourne, Florida with my mother and little brother. I stayed there until I was 25 and at age 25 I moved back to the state I love, NC! I am still looking for Mr. Right but not hard. I have found a career I love and am working hard to achieve goals there, if I find him on my way great, if not, that's fine too.
School
Schools, well even when I lived in NC, mom was never satisfied with Guilford County's schools system. I spent Kindergarden and first grade at Hester's, 2nd grade at Peeler, 3rd & 4th at Price, 5th & 6th at Frazier and 7th at Allen Middle School. If I had stayed in NC I would have graduated from either Dudley or Smith High School, but in Florida I attended Johnson Junior High and then moved to Merritt Island and graduated from Merritt Island High School. n High School, well lets just say I wasnÂt an Honor roll student. When college came around the first time, pretty much the same thing. Unless it was something I was interested in I didnÂt do well. The 2nd time I went to college I found myself a Phi Beta Kappa member! Imagine that!
College
For college I attended and complete a Nursing Assistant, Ward Clerk and AA-Degree from Brevard Community College in Florida.
In NC I am currently seeking a 2nd Associate's degree, this one in Computers, and have a 4.0 GPA.
Workplace
I worked in the Emergency Department at Holmes Regional Medical Center from 1992 until 1996, but Volunteered prior to that. I moved to Winston Salem, NC and worked at Baptitst Hospital in the Emergency room from 1996- 2000. I worked for Guilford County Schools and AC Corporation briefly in Winston Salem but ended up at Open Software Solutions as a QA Specialist in Software which is what I do now. I was promoted to Senior Quality Assurance Specialist in '04. The next promotion should be Team Leader!
