Hi, I'm Janet Kightlinger, I was born in Erie and lived three blocks away from the school. I escaped a traumatic, abusive home life by marrying young and having a daughter at age 18. It wasn't much of an escape. I had three children within three years, found myself married to a physically abusive man and was divorced soon after. I worked as a legal secretary to support my kids, while attending college, after getting my GED in Connecticut. I remained single for nearly fourteen years. I worked a second job teaching CPR through Emergycare, but was unable to finish college until 2007. I kept up with my computer skills and spent a lot of time learning graphic design and hardware and software troubleshooting. My mom died of cancer when I was 29 and I just couldn't stay in erie anymore. I moved to Raleigh, North Carolina and worked there for a year and then came back home. Homesick for the beach.
