Janette's Story
Life
Tim & I have been married for 28 yr.s. Our 2 boys are out on their own.
The oldest is with an electrical contracting company of Lincoln & was married May 26, 2007.
The youngest is back in Lincoln as a Manager assistant at PACSUN in Gateway.
I am the Lifestyle director for an Independant community in Lincoln. It is different than the 14 yr.s as an Activity director in a skilled facility. I still volunteer for Miss America/Miss Nebraska program and still work with the Nebraska Galaxy Of Star Talent search.
Tim & I still volunteer for the Sertoma Service Organization. We just came back from Souix Falls for convention.
Tim has been a Schwan man for 21 yr.s and loves his customers, they are good to us. Last Summer he enjoyed the NASCAR races & Jimmy Johnson with a birthday trip to Kansas City. He enjoys watching football with the boys.
I'd rather sing, dance, garden, camp, do car shows or check out the natural wildlife with a hike and camera.
School
The few people I had a crush on I never dated, but they were good friends and I have watched them raise their families and they tend to be doing the very same things with their children as Tim & I have with ours.
We are getting to the age now where we have watched our classmates grieve as our parents are aging and leaving for some far better life promised to all and here we are left with the memories.
Mr. Sobotka is still the handsome teacher he was when I was in school. It was great to see Mr. S. at Deshler, for my neices graduation reception. He still gives the girl students ...Expand for more
a bad time.
If I were to do it all again, I definitely would not do sports. I like the fact it kept me in shape, but it would of been nice to of played during the games. Looking back I should of entered Forensics, Drama and begged for solo work in Show Choir. I love to entertain and be on stage!
The craziest time in school was being the first Mascot our school ever had and I think I did a very fine job of goofing around with that costume when needed. The most rewarding time was being voted All Around Pep Club member by my fellow peers.
Workplace
Long Term Care has seem to be a magnet when it comes to my career life. It was never what I had dreamed, but from CNA in high school to an Activity Director now, it keeps me hopping. I tend to be on stage always as I conduct some entertainment for our residents. Working full time again has shortened my volunteer time and keeping in touch with friends, but I attend acting, vocal or dancing classes at community venues in Crete and Lincoln. I enjoy acting. I look forward to entertain with song & dance some day.
In moving with Tim's Schwan Sales life, I have found I can work the counter & drive thru window at Fast Food facilities or sell, order and file parts at a Farm Implement, and even made rag mops or brooms when I worked at the Deshler Broom factory. The most exciting job was working for the Deshler Rustler Paper where I was ad. rep. and reporter.
The most rewarding jobs, were never jobs at all, when I volunteered for the Boy Scout program, Miss America program, Galaxy Of Stars, Sertoma, our church, friends and family.
