Janice's Story
Life
I live in Co. with my younger son.
I work as a job coach at a local high school, which involves placing kids with special needs at job sites. I work part-time in food service at a small hospital. I have also been involved in singing and writing.
After graduation from UNM in 1979, I taught elementary school and performed speech therapy for a total of 14 years. During that time I also completed my master's degree from UNM (1984). Later, I became certified as a speech therapist in Phx., Az. I met my son as his speech t...Expand for more
herapist in a preschool program I worked in. We adopted him a year later when he was 5 years old. He's now 18 and graduating in May, 2009! In 1999, we adopted our younger son as a newborn. I was a stay-at-home mom for 11 years, before recently landing a new part-time job.
In 1990, I attended seminary for one year in Ft. Worth Texas, where I studied music and missions. While there, I worked at a church where I served as youth and children's director.
