Janice's Story

Jesus Christ. He is the best thing I ever have had in my life. He kept me save even when I was lost, and forgave me of all my wrong doings when I asked him to. My two children are a blessing, and were much better teenagers and young adults than I ever was. No interest in partying like their parents did before they were saved. If I won $100 million, I'd give 10% of it to tithing, then spend the rest on children, grandchildren and the rest for me for traveling, and help whomever the Lord leads me to help. My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be grandparents. I was so completely right. My best friend would tell you I'm a faithful friend, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a little stuck - up , but I'm just shy. I dress like a Nanna, but that is going to change in the near future. If I had one do over I would of stayed saved when I was 15 yrs. old. I would of had a closer walk with Jesus. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by the grace of God. My oldest friends are Pam Price Gill, Jamie Sanders and Brenda Sanders. Pam & I met on our first day at DeRidder High. She had just moved from Denham Springs, La. and I had just moved from Okla. City, Okla. We were both seniors, had the same birth months, and were just out of our elements. We neither one knew anybody, so we hung out together. Brenda & Jamie Sanders are sisters and I lived down the street from them in OKC.Okla. We ...Expand for more
had been friends since 6th grades and still are, even though we have lived away from each other for years. Nobody remembers me from DeRidder High, because I only went there one year and I have not lived there since 1978, so since nobody remembers me they would not be anything about me they would be surprised about. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mary Sheaffer, because she and her family were the first people to get me involved in church, and that has left a lasting image in my life.. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the bathroom and add on a another bathroom and bedroom. My dream home would be where it is now with the above added and remodeled rooms.. My first job was at Oklahoma State fairgrounds, where I got paid .60 per hour to work behind concession stands. What I remember most about it is also being able to work at concerts and ball games and race tracks. While working concerts also got to watch concerts for free.. Child hood memories that left a bad taste in my mouth. Parents making me stop seeing one of my boyfriends, which I stopped going to church and started drinking and partying in retaliation. The second childhood memory was my parents moving me from Oklahoma City to DeRidder La. the summer before my senior year. Very big ordeal for a teenager that had been going to school with the same people since 3rd grade and not to mention being moved from the city life to a small town. But God has a reason for everything.
