Janice's Story

Hi friends and fellow Classmates! I hope this will help me to get back in touch with some of you. Who knows? So I will try to find some photos to post but right now my scanner seems to not be working... I'm sure most of you don't remember me, as I was sort of a loner back in High School. But I remember some good times and so many people I wanted to know better. I guess getting married so early just before coming out of my shell didn't help much. I was married to my High School sweetheart Joe Southorn for 34 years, we had two wonderful daughters and six Grandchildren the last was born three years ago. Joe passed away in Feb. 2005. It has been a difficult four years without him as we had so much life to live together. This was not a road that was planned or ever dreamed of... I still miss him everyday and have tried to find ways to make my life full again. It hasn't been easy since he was more than my loving husband... He brought so much into my life, especially caring and laughter... WILL POST A PHOTO FOR ALL OF YOU TO SEE, OF THE INFAMOUS HOBBIE T. CLOWN. He was always my best friend, confidant, teacher & helper and many more parts of my life. I loved him with all of my heart... He is not only missed by me but by many. I am so blessed to have our two daughters living nearby in Oregon and six wonderful Grandchildren to keep me going. Other family members have been living near too, but I recently lost both of my dear parents, my Father due to Parkinson's in 2006 and then my Mother in 2007. It's been some difficult times the past few years but I figure things can only get better from here on out. I have some happy times to look forward to seeing my Grandchildren grow and other new ventures. I...Expand for more
am currently out of work due to an injury on the job and two surgeries. Still in Physical Therapy. But for the past two years, I've been working for a local Home Care Service as a Caregiver and looked forward to becoming a CNA, (I thought). Now I don't know if I'll be able to return to work doing the same occupation or have to look for something new once again. I've done many things and have thought of going back to become my all time dream as a Vet Tech or an Interior Designer. In spare time I have enjoyed caring for my animals, riding and training, I also enjoy Gardening, many crafts, cooking, shopping, antique hunting, music, reading, camping and traveling, (currently by Motorcycles with friends)Also will post a photo of me on a motorcyle touring... A few of my many interests. Times have changed so much over the years, so with the internet and searches I've hoped to find long lost High School Classmates, also friends in the Military we knew in the 20 years Joe served in the Air Force and other places we have been in the US and overseas such as a duty station in Germany where I worked in Audio Sales for Bose Corp and many other companies. It was a great life in the Military and I miss it as Joseph did before he passed away. We had some wonderful experiences. Now being 56, (A few weeks ago), can't believe how much time has flown by, I look back often and reflect on a pretty good life full of love, hopes, dreams, and many of God's Blessing. It is only by God's Grace that I have been able to survive some of the more difficult times and grief... So now, I wonder what is in the future... Well, I have many new hopes, dreams and plans... Take Care, and Life's Blessings to all of you... Janice
