Janice's Story

I went to Germany for three years and I had a son. Enjoyed being there and learning some true history of the country. My ex had relatives in Stuttgart so his aunt taught me to knit, now she spoke only German. I went to the base bookstore and got books and learned to knit and crochet. There were lots of time I had because my ex was gone sometimes 6 weeks at atime. I would make all my clothes. The first part of being in Germany we were living off post so I used to walk to the markets, or their stores.came Came back to Phoenix in 73 and made our home there. We lived in a couple of apts. and in 1977 we decided to buy a house. It had a big yard and I got involved in planting all kinds of roses and bulbs. My nephew who was 18 paaed away of cancer and I then decided I wanted to learn some medical background. By the year of 1980 I had three kids and a house. My marriage fell apart and went to California and went to medical school for asst. or back office. They wanted me to work in a planned parenthood clinic to asst in abortions and...Expand for more
i couldn't do it, so I went to work at a plastic plant and learned how to do Quality Control.Stayed in Calif. until 1992 went back to Phoenix where my parents were and they passed away, in 1996 I came to Colorado and found out I had bone cancer. I fell in love with a guy at first sight, we got married and I'm still here in Ft. Morgan the area where my Mom grew up so I found some family history. We met while walking to the store, I wanted a cig. and he wanted a beer. I found out in 1999 that I had bone cancer, and had surgery Sept. 11, 2000 and they replaced all of right thigh. I had to learn to walk all over again it took me 6 months to walk down steps. My kids are in N.C. and I have a step-son. My kids are really "kool" kids and I am always getting pictures of my grandkids. I love to have flowers everywhere. I love to walk and see the BlueJays in the spring and the Robins. There is alot of "critters" around here, even on the farms. I do a lot of knitting for the grandkids and I keep track of them by phone and the internet.
