Janie's Story
Hi Friends! I haven't done a great job of keeping this profile up-to-date, so I figure I'd better fill you in. After high school, I went to California for a year to Biola University as an undeclared major. I finished up during the next three years as an education major at Western Baptist College (now Corban College) in Salem. When I graduated, I was blessed to get a job the very next fall in the Hillsboro School District. I am in my fifth year of teaching first grade at the same school there and I love my job! The kids are great; they keep me young and keep me laughing. I am in a high poverty area and I really feel called to be there for those kiddos. I also work part-time as a waitress... it keeps me busy. I tend to be a very social person, so it's a great way to make friends and...Expand for more
money all at the same time. I'm pretty involved at my church, so that's another way I spend my spare time. I sing on the worship team and work in the nursery with the babies a couple times a month. It gives me a "baby fix" and helps me be patient as I wait for "Mr. Right" to come along. Someday I would love to meet an amazing guy, get married, and have a family of my own. At this point, I'm trying to be patient, enjoy the friends I have now, and borrow other people's kids for short periods of time. :) I hope all of you are doing well.
