Janie's Story
Derrel Chase ('61,PDHS) and I married after graduation in 1961 and remained in Amarillo until 1986. We moved to Odessa for 6 years, then moved on to Abilene, Texas in 1992, We were employed by the State of Texas and retired in 2003 in Abilene. We traveled a bit and enjoyed ourselves. Derrel loved to play golf! He passed that love on to the next 3 generations! I volunteer, read and am an amateur artist.- painting in watercolor & acrylic. We have 3 married children,(2 living in Abilene, 1 in Frisco, Tx) 7 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren (in Abilene). ve and support from family & friends & look forward with faith that tomorrow will bring surprises & happiness. I’ve been traveling a bit & exploring places I’ve never seen. It’s a beautiful world! A brother still lives in Amarillo so I come visit once or twice a year usually late spring or early fall. I know many of you have had sadness & adventures greater than mine so share them.
