Janine's Story

Life Ivan "Scott" and Janine Welch Janssen will have been married for 44 yrs in May. We have two children, Michael,44, in May and Katherine Ann (Kat),37 last September. Mike is married to Jennifer Finch Janssen and they have three children, Kyle 10, Conner 8, and Emily 6. Katie has three children, Steven 15, Taylor Shaye 12, Ryan 10. Mike and family live in Fountain Hills while Katie has moved to Prescott and it's great to have that many calling us grandpa and grandma...we just creak a bit louder! Catch you all later. I was only at Grandview for one year my sixth grade which would make it 57-58. I remember a few people in particular. Judy Foote I think, Margaret? who had a halloween party. and at Washington HS at the same times I was. My homeroom teacher was Mr. Tutor, the first teacher ever to TEACH me how to do math. I remember making an apron and a hot pad in sewing. I remember learning the song La Paloma Blanca in singing. And all the nice kids who went there without uniforms for the first and only time for a while to come. After that year was summer and they let me play on the softball team, lousy as I turned out to be. I don't have any hand eye coordination. That summer I was on Peanut Bandstand and actually won the dance contest with a boy I don't remember. Only know he was the brother of a friend of my sister on Arizona Bandstand - Marsha and Frankie won that contest and got a trophy from Jane Powell. I got a notebook. Oh well I liked the school and am sad that they tore it down. Just some memories from long ago.
