Janis's Story
Life
I have been married to Matt for 29 years now and we have four happy and healthy children. We are very involved in our Church, St. James the Greater Catholic Church. I am a volunteer Youth Minister, and I am also volunteering at Mt. St. Mary High School as one of the Campus Ministers. I am a fulltime mom and wouldn't beg to be back in the "work force" today. I sometimes do volunteer work for Birth Choice. Birth Choice is a pro-life emergency pregnancy service, just in case you didn't know. My parents are still living and two of my three brothers still live in OKC. My brother, Tom, is in Houston. Matt's family lives here in the city and we see them often. We have 28 nieces & nephews and 18 great nieces & nephews so far. Holidays are never boring for us! We have a son-in-law, Eli, who is married to our eldest daughter, Kathryn. School
I am so glad not to be in school anymore! The Mount holds fond memories for me and I am enjoying my children attending this school!
College
After MSM, I went to Oklahoma State University! I majored in Business and received a 2-year degree. I loved college at OSU and remain a dedicated Cowboys fan today!
Workplace
I worked at Delhi Gas Pipeline for a short while after I received a two-year business degree from The College of Business at OSU. I then went to work with Robin Leslie at Devon Energy Corporation as a Land Secretary and loved it! The people there were so much fun and I did miss it terribly when I decided to stay home with my little girl. Teresa Pexa even came and worked there with us for a while. We had a blast! But I wouldn't trade staying home with my kids for the best job in the world! Because, I think I already have the best job in the world, right here at home.
