Janis's Story

HI EVERYONE! I'm still above ground! I'm married to Steven Lester who passed away on Feb 2, 2017. I also lost my only granddaughter who I raised. She was 22 and we were very close. The grief has consumed me! I am a mere shell of a person I was as a large part of me died that day too! I've moved back to Florida to be closer to family. AFTER NURSING SCHO...Expand for more
OL I PURSUED A DOCTORATE in SOCIAL ANTHROPOLOGY AND WORKED AS A GERONTOLOGIST. ACTUALLY, I'VE DONE EVERYTHING FROM REVIEWING MOVIE SCRIPTS FOR MEDICAL ACCURACY TO STAND-UP COMEDY. Expert testimony, review of grant proposals and clinical trials, medical seminars and lots of publications. Retired now and "gone to seed". Hope to see everyone at a reunion!

Remembering Ivy's last 2 years.
Today is the anniversary of that awful day I lost my sweet girl. This photo is the last one taken of her about 5 days prior. She had just been released from ICU for ketoacidosis. 2192 days and the pain is still raw from
