Janise's Story
Life
After school, I finished beauty school and started working as a hair dresser. I retired in 06 after almost 30 years.
I married young and moved to TX but got divorced after 3 years. I stayed in TX and married a wonderful guy. We have been together for almost 40 years. We have two grown daughters. Jennifer has two boys 18 & 10 and a girl 13 and graduated from Texas A&M ( GIG'EM AGGIES ), she is now an English teacher; Jaylyn was into competitive cheer and cheered for Navarro Junior College. They are the best competitive JUCO squad in the country. She has a daughter 8 and a 4 month old baby boy. Both girls married Aggie boys.
I am so thankful for the grace and love of Jesus Christ. He truly changed my life.
My dream was to go back to school after I got everyone else out. It only took me 31 years, but I now have a degree in Professional Accountancy and an MBA & my former teachers would be amazed to know I am an over achiever! I now am a defense contract auditor and a CPA.

awyers went to college, it is a huge deal for me. It is further enhanced by the fact I graduated in the bottom third of our class. Haha, I didn't even know they ranked us. I proudly graduated Summa Cum Laude from college. It is amazing what a little perspective does for your life.
I had Mr. Hart for general math and he is the only one I remember challenging my belief that I was dumb. Where ever you are Mr. Hart, Thank you, I have thought of you often over the years when I doubted myself.
I miss Tucson sometimes but I love TX too. It gets harder to leave those mountains each time I visit. I would love to be able to work between Houston & Tucson and have the best of both worlds.
I had the opportunity to watch as Hurricane Ike passed over Houston. While seeing the eye of a hurricane is a novel event, I don't recommend it.
Favorite thing to do? Go dancing at historic Texas dancehalls and listen to live Texas & Red Dirt country music. Some things never change. I got back into horses for a few years but decided I needed to put that money into retirement planning. I would love to hear from people, look me up on Facebook. Janise Tucker Kennedy
