After graduation, I went up to Cal and graduated in 1972 (took off to have my oldest daughter) with a BA in History with a specialization in Communist China (I have NO idea what I thought I was going to do with it!). My second daughter was born shortly after I graduated and in 1973 my husband graduated from law school at King Hall at UC Davis. Davis wasn't nearly as bad as we thought it would be -- it was WORSE!!! We moved to Illinois for several months and then we were stationed at Fort Sheridan, IL, just north of Chicago when my husband was commissioned in the JAG Corps. We spent 4 years at Fort Sheridan -- the longest I lived anywhere until I moved to SC -- and then lived in Lake Forest, IL, while my husband practiced law in various capacities until he relocated to LA in 1979 and we divorced. My daughters and I relocated to Washington, DC, and then back to Palo Alto and stayed in Palo Alto until I was accepted to Law School at the University of South Carolina. I believe I am the fourth generation to graduate from law school at USC (here in South Carolina, "USC" means "University of South Carolina"). My "baby boy" (now 27) was born during law school and I was admitted to the Bar in South Carolina in May 1987.
