Jim's Story
Life
Since graduation, I married Carol Lopez in 1968. We have two adult children, John, born in 1970 and Jana, born in 1971. I retired from the Los Angeles City Fire Department, ran my own business for 9 years and sold it in late 2002. We lived in Newbury Park, Ca. (near Thousand Oaks) for thirty years. We retired to Pebble Creek Golf Resort in Goodyear, Arizona in 2003. We are active in our local church and have made many new friends here in Arizona. Carol and I enjoy snow skiing, tennis and traveling. We feel we are finally old enough to start playing golf. We have taken lessons and Carol has even taken a golf class at the local college. cause Carol was sick and we left early. My brother, H.R., (Narbonne Class of '60) moved here to Pebble Creek in 2004. H.R. and I bought an Can-Am ATV and spend time together exploring different areas of Arizona with other friends. My son , John, moved to Goodyear in 2004 and bought a home about 4 miles from us, and we are able to spend a lot of family time together. My daughter, Jana, lives in So. San Francisco, even though it is a great distance, we are able to spend most holidays together with our extended families. Jim Mahoney (Narbonne Class of S'63) lives in Pebble Creek about 4 blocks away. We get together often and talk about life in the good old days in Lomita and Harbor City. Last updated Sept. 19, 2008.
