Jarvis's Story
Life
Married my bride Sandy in 1962. We met at Cal State LA. After becoming a IBEW journeymaan I went to work for the County of Los Angeles. I retired in March 03 as a middle manager after 34years.
We have three children and 7 grandchildren. Most of our time is spent with boating around the USA, Scuba Diving, Golfing, Traveling Abroad, Family, Friends, and Church activities. And most important I am healthy and happy.
College
Cal Stae L.A. - Met my life long mate Sandy, because her boy friend sent her to the back of the bus. He took the only seat with their friends. There were several seats available. She chose the seat next to me. We hit it off and talked all the way to San Diego for our football game.

ve manager 12. Main duties were managing the maintenance and alterations (construction) for about 200 million square feet of County facilities through the 4,000 sq. miles of the County.
Installed the worlds largest building environmental automation system (BEAS). The system monitors and controls the major building equipment in 90 major County buildings. Control was done over telephone lines. The system has saved over 100 million dollars in energy and maintenace costs.
I managed a Job Order Contracting service that started at $1 million a year and grew to over 40 million in five years. I had 30 project managers and coordinated work with other county managers and building craft personnel. In addition, managed our Plans and Estimating section.
Seeing all this in print sure makes me think how good it is to be retired.
