Jason's Story
Only 20,000 letters to tell the story of the past 20 years or so? Not nearly enough.
After school, I tried college for a decade or so (haha). Ended up at Washington State working on an English/Communications degree. Then got a job offer that was too good to pass up, so off I went to the Great White North (not Canada, but close enough). Worked in Minnesota for a couple years as a PR guy for a community college system. Then moved back to CA where I worked as a tour guide and cellar rat for a small winery on the Central Coast. It was then that I came together with '89 Grad Heidi Gartner, and we've been together ever since. After the Central Coast, I managed a restaurant in Springfield Missouri, sold microchips in Irvine, worked for an educational company, did sales and marketing for a cigar company, did business development for a payroll company, and then I got bored. hen worked at a great restaurant in Laguna Beach, and now, 20 years after my journey began, I am working as a sales rep for a company that sells food to area hotels and restaurants, and on the side I am the CSO for a brand new company selling cutting edge, high end audio equipment.
In the meantime, I married Heidi, we bought a beautiful little house in Mission Viejo, and about 2 years ago, she gave birth to Finn and Elly, our twins. They are a handful but even the craziest moments have value beyond anything else I can really imagine.
In the end, my very circuitous journey ended up almost where it began - marrying a girl I loved even back in High School (although she might tell a slightly different version! :) ), living back in South OC, and raising a family surrounded by my parents, brothers, and even a few of my high school friends. Some times, the apple just takes a bit longer to not fall far from the tree, I guess.
