Books he likes include u know, BTW, Gary Knull. Movies he likes include Avatar, O Brother, Where Art Thou?. TV shows he likes include HISTORY, NBC News, Twighlight Zone. One of Jawad's favorite quotes is:"Paraphrased: Don't forget Him because if you forget Him, He will make you forget yourselves...author: lets see how good you are...you guess.... Poor translation: O valiant Eagle, do not fear the fierce wind of storms....for the winds that blow underneath your wings can only make you soar higher..... (Iqbal on struggle of the human spirit in presence of struggles and how these very struggles and tribulations represent opportunities for one to develop the self into higher states of existence). Raise/strengthen/purify your selves (khudi) to such a state that the Almighty, before the writing of every decree, He asks His slave, "tell me, what is it that u wish (pleases/satisfies you)...another poor translation of Iqbal. However, it speaks volumes on the issues of predestination and freedom. Partnership of the free-will and the ultimate ego is essentially the point here. There's a ton of others but when it comes to jotting them down, somehow, u get mental blocks.". More about Jawad:"I'm here to meet old friends from elementary school to college...and beyond. I enjoy revisiting the past so drop me a message, even if to say hi/salaam/peace. Rutgers Alumni We constantly mature and in due time, change. Time is flux...Expand for more
. So to ask who am I, requires that I change my profile all of the time. I am not what I was just a year ago. Some people change at different speeds, while others ever so slowly that they appear dormant. If I had to judge myself, I'd assess that my turnover rate is extraordinarily fast. I guess I can qualify as an academic (had to leave as a Ph.D. candidate due to funds but enrolled in a certification program), real estate, landlord (current), certified cable technician (independent contractor for Comcast), (certified) auto electronics & installations technician, air duct cleaning biz (side gig), certified water restoration tech (plus certs in odor control & carpet cleaning, all by IICRC), Carpenters Union, Scratch DJ (need to practice a bit more, but yes, I am an amateur turntablist), Correctional employee for a couple of years and a Correctional Chaplain for nearly 10 more years, a Cab/livery driver (with a psl), security for nearly 7 years (with my guard card), a self-made homeopath and an unofficial critic of everything including a critic of critics ala H. L. Mencken. I am sure of nothing except for love, estrangement & death. I now seek with my spouse as a partner, to raise a child blessed to us, take care of one parent remaining and pursue 2 things: a deeper study of my faith-tradition (its spiritual, historical & intellectual foundations) perhaps to be had only by travelling and if the Almighty wills, a continuation of academia... I am for sure, a life long student in the truest sense of the terms... and onwards I march to my grave, grabbing what I can from this world to benefit me for that moment of certainty just as Adam in reverse, was being marched out of paradise, grabbing what he could from the provisions of paradise before our father was expelled & consigned to the earth. May we all change with certainty of death in the forefront of our hearts. Peace to all....".
