Jay's Story

Life My life seemed to be in a rut. The date was August 24th 1997. I was driving my automobile back to Camp Lejeune, NC to report back to the Marine Corps from my leave that was about to expire. Someone else had other plans for me and I fell asleep at the wheel and wrapped my Monte Carlo around a telephone pole, which probably saved my life. After my release from approximatly 11/2 months of staying in hospital. I got back to work for the Corps. I was transterred to the reserve center in BrookPark. ion on me to determine if I was fit for Active Duty. I guess I was found fit and a short time later, was sent to Japan for duty. It was definatly an experience for me. If you like to party, I urge you to go to Tokyo. That city just don't sleep!! I was then sent to California or for those knowledgeable in the military, Camp Pendleton. I liked it alot and that's when they discovered that I wasn't supposed to be in Active Duty anymore. They transferred me to San Diego to sit in medical hold awaiting my orders from HQ Marine Corps in our nation's capital.
