Jay's Story

Life Big brother to Lonny Berman (Cardozo '77) and Wendy Berman [Goldberg] (Cardozo '80). Received B.E.E. from The Cooper Union in 1978 and M.S.E. from Princeton University in 1979. Joined AT&T (Bell Laboratories) in 1978 and accepted early retirement from AT&T in 2003 at age 45. I then (re)-joined Lucent Technologies which was acquired by Alcatel in 2006, and is based in Paris. Those French classes from Cardozo H.S. are now being applied in the business world (oui, je parle francais). I am now...Expand for more
associated with the new Alcatel-Lucent as a Senior Manager focused on bringing new Security applications to market. Married to Zoe Ratech (Francis Lewis '76) since 1980 with one daughter, Spring, who is a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania concentrating in robotics/mechanical engineering. We have been living in Livingston, NJ since 1983. Interests include politics, stock & options investing, horse racing, and bicycling. Greetings to all of my Cardozo H.S. and Cooper Union friends!

Harvard Hall is one of the main buildings in the Old Harvard Yard. It was built in 1766 before the American Revolutionary War began.
