Jay's Story
Life
Well,
High school was a real drag I liked my time in grade school with the Union Avenue Gang. I have only been back to Margate once when I was doing work for the power plant over at Beasley point.
I was a life guard in Margate through '70. Most of you pobably would not have recognized me as I weighed 140lb vs the 200+ you were used to seeing.
I gradeted from New Mexico State University as a Mechanical Engineer in 1970. Did not get drafted.
Went to work for United Engineers and Constructors in Philly from 1970 through 1976. I did my apprenticeship for my professional engineers licence there as a designer of Power Plants. Left UE&C to work for Burns and Roe another A/E.
Built my first power plant in Palatka Florida. Moved to Jacksonville, FL in '78.
Worked with clients FPL, FPC, Disney for 11 years. Went to Seoul South Korea for a year (tough dut...Expand for more
y) during the 1988 olympics and returned state side a year later to work for Florida Power and Light. Lived in Jupiter, FL along with Burt.
Did this for 13 years and retied out (well sort of)
Just after 911 I left FPL and went to Wisconsin for two years as a cosultant to Alliant Energy. Not letting moss row under my feet, to say the least, I took a another consulting job in Salt Lake City.
Don't laugh, If you haven't been there it is a jewel in the middle of the desert.
I left the SLC Job in October and took on a division of Mitsubishi Corporation in Newport Beach, CA as VP and GM.
On the personal side, I have a daughter that I addopted and raised. She is now 18 and just got her drivers licence. This was a tough task, she backed the car into another one her first week after getting her driver's licence. Stayed calm and clled GEICO.
