Life
Have to make a correction. I now have 11 Grandkids! My daughter, Megan and her husband, Matt, had a little boy, bringing the total to 11.
I now live in Miami, FL in our motorhome. I work as a Defense contractor at US Southern Command. Last year I traveled to Panama for the first time. This past Easter I was in Haiti on a private project to build an orphanage.
I used to live in the Norfolk, VA area (Suffolk). I was on active duty at Joint Forces Command. I am no longer a DOD natural disaster planner. I did that job for Major General Honore' of Hurricane Katrina fame. I developed the plans for how the military supported FEMA during the hurricane. I retired on 3 November 2008 with 37 years of service. I spent the last year as a recalled retiree.
I entered the US Army in 1971 at Ft.Knox, Ky. My first duty station was Okinawa, Japan, 1972-73. Then Ft. Riley, as the assignment clerk for 1st Infantry Division, 1973-1975. School
Whitefish Twp School in the upper peninsula of Michigan was a tiny school. The students knew each other well, and the teachers were very much involved in their lives. We all looked forward to leaving that little town, but now realize that there is something to be desired for the quiet life and the outdoors to be enjoyed.
College
I attended Tennessee Temple University from 1975 to 1980. I was a voice of the radio station, WDYN. I also worked for several radio and television stations in the Chatt. area. I worked in a chapel in Bridgeport,Al. for about 3 yrs. I lived on East 14th Street off Dodds Ave. for most of the time. I had two daughters when I got there and two sons were born there while I was a student. I would love to hear from anyone who attended the college.
