Life After graduation from the University of Florida, BS Marketing '79, I moved to Sarasota. Actually there was a two year layover in Arcadia where my parents had retired. There I worked as a radio DJ at the country music station -- I ain't lyin', this really is true. My sister, Jan, moved to Arcadia too and still lives there with her husband Hal and their three kids. Two years in Arcadia was quite enough. I needed a little faster pace AND A BEACH! Siesta Key beckoned. During my first years in Sarasota I played some racquetball, went to the beach, worked in advertising, joined the Jaycees, dated some beautiful women, traveled back to Delray on occassion, went to Jimmy Buffett concerts in Tampa, Orlando, Atlanta every year or so, read some good mystery novels, worked briefly for Arvida Corp. when it was part of Disney, developed a taste for good red wine, got involved in the chamber of commerce, was engaged for a couple of months, the...Expand for more
