Jay's Story
After school i got married to lydia keller,(class-73) moved to the nkc suburbs, had 1 daughter melissa, then a few years later got divorced, i have 1 grandson caleb-10yr old,(his other grandparents went to van horn, class of 73) i went to maple woods & penn valley for awhile, i went to work for bayer corp, i went from blue shirt to a white shirt,office promotion jr management position, worked for the third man in the company... got a pink slip after 13 yrs.( too bad i could have been retired by now!!! I then when back to blue shirt work for flint ink co for 9-yrs, then they folded up, now work for tnemec paint co (16 yrs and counting). Staying with blue shirt work, its a more stable income.41 years now in industrial manufacturing. I have found out, life has its ups & downs, good & bad things, some things you learn in school, some outside school, some times i think i grew up to fast, I think i would have liked to have gone to the tech school, but working c.o.e. senior year di...Expand for more
dn't leave much time. i remember what my grandmother would tell me as a small boy, i think and reflect back on those times now....... they keep me in line with were i need to be in life.i still stay in touch with a few close friends from high school, the block, and grade school. I re-took drum lessons a few years ago(forgot how to read drum music) and play drums with my work-group band(some time more beer drinking than playing)-(early-eagles- 70s rock & country type music) and re-build older drum sets in my spare time, a church got one of my sets... i donate what i can to sheffield house, (battered womans home) it is a sense of helping others to help themselves and to get re-started with their lives again in the( old -hood).as well as donate to people i know that are less fortunate and need clothing and house hold goods... of course i stay in touch with family-cousins, joanne& jennie labella, linda montaleone classes 71-72-73. hope all out there are well! jay (816-585-8560)
