Jay's Story
I attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT from 1967-1971. After graduation, I was assigned to USCGC Castle Rock in Vietnam. This cutter was transferred to the Vietnamese Navy. Then, duties were assigned on USCGC Taney which had been in Oahu during the attack on Pearl Harbor in WWII. I was later assigned to Pensacola, FL as a Naval flight student. ng designated a USCG pilot, I was assigned to tours in Brooklyn, NY, Elizabeth City, NC, Mobile, AL, and Washington, DC. I flew the HH-52A, HH-3F, and HU-25 mainly for search and rescue in the USCG. After retiring from the USCG as a CDR, I flew BE-1900's for USAir Express from 1992-1997. From 1997-2014, I flew B-737's, B-757's, and B-767's for Delta Air Lines. Life is good!
