Jean's Story

Life After high school I attended Occidental College, receiving a B.A. in 1964 and my secondary teaching credential in 1965. I taught at Eagle Rock High School from 1965 to 1998. (French the entire time; Latin for a number of years; Spanish occasionally.) I met my husband, Robert Imperatrice, at Eagle Rock High, where he was a biology teacher. We have no children. In 1998 took early retirement at age 55, and we made our "vacation home" just north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, our "full-time home." We have ten acres, and we are within a few miles of great golf, skii...Expand for more
ng, and boating on several beautiful lakes. I still like teaching teenagers, and I substitute some in the local high schools. We travel quite a bit, and it's wonderful to be able to travel during the "off-season." I also sing in the North Idaho Chorale, about thirty singers which is headquartered in Sandpoint, about thirty miles north of our house. We present two or three concerts a year, often with a full orchestra. We have returned to Southern California for visits about twice a year. The 40th reunion in October 2000 was great. I'm hoping there will be a 45th.

Today's FB photo is not pretty. This is the trail to Sun Point, and shows devastation wrought by last summer's fire. East of Logan Pass, by road or by trail, the burn is really up close and personal. West of the Pass one ca

Darwin and Cassie. So cute together.
My Lacey. The best dog ever. As soon as I saw her, I knew she was my ideal and perfect companion. Alas, we lost her from a rare cancer on April 5, 2011 at age 12 1/2. Here she is with Cassidy, our three-legged Persian, whor
Lunch at Navigation Campground on Upper Priest Lake. Barbara, Robert, Renee. And...after lunch a little trek to a really cool Wiildrose geocache. Does not get much better than this.
Pend Oreille River at Old Thema Ferry site. Hasn't been a ferry for many years, but there is a public boat ramp....and a geocache.
Really cool wood stove at East Side Warm Up geocache site. Our picnic lunch spot.
